Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance support to various projects at the Laboratory including: support for procurements, participating and/or leading audits of both suppliers and PPPL programs, performing data analyses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, performing root case analysis, and reviewing processes and programs for improvement opportunities.  The successful candidate will perform various high-level quality program work functions with minimal direction, e.g. quality support for critical, technically challenging procurements or leading complex audits.  As long as the requirements of the associate quality program are satisfied, the individual has full responsibility and freedom for organizing, executing and coordinating these assignments.

Qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Quality discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience of quality experience in manufacturing or R& D.  Eight (8) additional years of experience related to the major responsibilities of this job description may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.  The required demonstrated capabilities in quality assurance are the ability to: clarify the benefits and intent of quality requirements, work well with others to lead a team to accomplish specific task, develop requirements, perform cost/benefits analyses, and develop and analyze plans and criteria for various projects and systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word are also required. A professional engineering license or ASQ Certification (e.g. Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor or Quality Manager) is desirable

HANDS-ON QUALITY ENGINEER           

                                                                       

                                                                       
 Sapa  Extruder, Inc., a leader in the manufacturing of extruded, finished and fabricated aluminum products, has an opening for a Quality Engineer.
 
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 3-5
years experience in a hands-on Quality  role, a technical degree in a related field is preferred but not required.  
 
Necessary skills include experience in dimensional measurement  (CMM is a plus), GD&T, calibration, auditing, basic statistics, and process capability studies. Advanced Math skills and computer skills to include at least MS-Office applications are needed.   Experience with ISO-9000 is necessary.
 
Automotive, lean manufacturing, Toyota Production system, 6 sigma and metallurgical experience are plusses.
